Sea Point at a glance

Sea Point is recognised for its beautiful beachfront apartments, the vibey promenade, and the numerous bars and restaurants that line the streets. From Sea Point, one can view the Signal Hill slopes with Table Mountain in the distance. Sea Point has a fantastic mix of residential and commercial buildings. Holiday flats and penthouses overlooking the sea, as well as mansions and historical estates, are among the homes and holiday accommodations available.

Because it is flat, the 11-kilometer Sea Point promenade is the most popular route for runners. The promenade runs the length of Sea Point's seafront, from Mouille Point to Bantry Bay. There are fantastic play areas for kids, exercise equipment, restaurants, and coffee shops all along the route.

Sea Point got its name in 1776 when one of Captain Cook's commanders, Sam Wallis, tented his soldiers there to avoid a smallpox outbreak that was raging through Cape Town at the time.
